What we do
The Bellbird Committee is a registered not for profit charity registered with ACNC. It was established in 1976 and is committed to assisting Disadvantaged Central Coast children and associated groups concerned with the welfare of children. Through its fundraising the Committee has been able to provide financial assistance to organisations like Yarran Early Intervention Centre, Central Coast Kids in Need, Riding for the Disabled. The Committee also assists on a case by case basis individual families who need support for a disadvantaged child.
The Committee, consisting of approximately 35 women, meets every month to plan fundraising events and manage the distribution of funds raised. New members are always welcome. 2017 saw the Committee raising over $30,000. Go to the News page to see some of the organisations and individuals who benefited from our fundraising. The Bellbird Committee received the most community votes of the 3 Central Coast charities nominated to receive support in the Telstra Connected Community Program. We received a cheque for $3,000 at a special function in December and this will help us assist many disadvantaged children on the Central Coast. Congratulations to Fairhaven and Outpost Central Coast too.
